What is Scraping therapy?

Scraping is a technique where a smooth-edged tool is used to gently scrape the skin. The therapist applies oil or lotion first to help the tool glide easily. Then, they use firm strokes in specific areas, usually over tight or sore muscles.

What does it do?

  • Breaks up tightness: Scraping helps loosen tight muscles and break down “knots” or scar tissue.

  • Improves circulation: The scraping increases blood flow to the area, which helps with healing and reduces pain.

  • Reduces inflammation and stiffness: By moving fluid and improving circulation, it can help decrease swelling and stiffness.

  • Relieves pain: Many people feel immediate relief from muscle or joint pain after a scraping session.

Does it hurt? because it Looks painful.

It might feel a little intense or uncomfortable, especially over tight areas, but it shouldn't be painful. Afterward, the skin may look red or have some light bruising — this is normal and usually goes away in a few days.

Check out the video below showing a little bit of how this technique works.
